01About the Maker
Discover the wonders of the forest, one sip at a time
Based in Nagano Prefecture, yaso transforms trees into tea and fragrance products. The name “Yaso” carries the meaning of “many things.” It is a name chosen to bring the wonders of forests and forestry into everyday life.
The origin of Yasocha lies in the search for new ways to utilize red pine trees felled during forest maintenance and garden tree management. It was born out of efforts that went beyond simply using the wood, extending to the branches and leaves as well.
02About This Product
Fresh Pine Aroma with a Roasted Note
801 “Hōji Akamatsu” is a tea made from 100% red pine needles harvested in Nagano Prefecture. Through a unique roasting process, the refreshing aroma of the pine needles is combined with a rich, toasty flavor.
Another distinctive feature of this tea is its gentle, smooth flavor. It is packaged in 12 tea bags so you can enjoy the essence of the forest in every cup. It is designed to easily fit into your daily tea routine.
03From Forest to Tea
Selecting Leaves, Then Making Tea
The branches and leaves brought back from logging and pruning sites are finely chopped, sifted by hand, and separated into parts used for tea. The parts not used for tea are repurposed as material for distillation.
Once the leaves are dried, the tea specialists at Hamasaen handle roasting, packaging, and other steps. Repeated tastings refine the flavor to bring out the red pine’s character. Work in the forest and tea-making come together in one cup.
04How to Enjoy It
Whether at the dinner table or during a moment to relax
The maker also describes a gentle flavor that pairs well with food. Yamazakana Yamaki suggests serving a warm cup with your usual meal and enjoying the pine aroma alongside the food.
First, enjoy it without adding anything—savor its rich aroma and refreshing flavor slowly. When brewing, follow the instructions on your 801 regarding the amount of hot water and steeping time.
