八ヶ岳の麓、長野県茅野市のyaso。地域の林業家と関わりながら、日本の森の香りを暮らしへ届ける作り手です。

森林の手入れで生じる木や枝葉を買い取り、製品の素材に使うことで、林業の仕事へ還元することも目指しています。木を幹・枝・葉に分け、チッピング、蒸留、乾燥など、それぞれの素材に合う形へ整えています。

幹と枝葉を、ひとつの香りに

「松林の風に乗って」は、粉砕した赤松の幹をベースに、枝葉から抽出した天然のオイルを加えたお香。木の幹と、枝葉の香りを一緒に生かした仕立てです。

使用するオイルはyasoが自社で蒸留したもの。作り手は、赤松そのものが持つ爽やかさと、森に包まれるような穏やかな香りを伝えています。

一本は、約13分が目安

長さ約70mmのお香が20本入り。燃焼時間は約13分が目安です。木の香りに目を向ける短い時間を、暮らしのひと区切りに取り入れられます。

Purchasing Forest Resources and Turning Them into Fragrances

Located at the foot of Mount Yatsugatake in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture, yaso is a brand that works closely with local foresters to bring the scent of Japan’s forests into people’s daily lives.

yaso aims to give back to forestry by purchasing wood, branches, and leaves from forest maintenance and using them in products. It sorts the materials into trunks, branches, and leaves, preparing each through processes such as chipping, distillation, and drying.

Bringing the trunk, branches, and leaves together into a single fragrance

"Riding the Wind Through the Pine Forest" is an incense made from crushed Japanese red pine trunks, with natural oils extracted from the branches and leaves added to the blend. It is crafted to bring out the combined scents of the tree trunks and the branches and leaves.

The oil is distilled in-house by yaso. The maker describes the freshness of red pine itself and a gentle aroma reminiscent of being surrounded by a forest.

About 13 Minutes per Stick

Each pack contains 20 incense sticks about 70 mm long, with an approximate burn time of 13 minutes. A short interval focused on wood’s aroma can mark a pause in the day.
